Norfolk Day Photo Competition 2025 Winners Announced

As part of this year’s Norfolk Day celebrations, we are proud to reveal the winners of our annual photo competition.

The popular contest aims to showcase the incredible dedication and positive impact of voluntary and grassroots organisations working tirelessly to support people throughout Norfolk.

More than 200 photographs were submitted by local groups, capturing a vibrant picture of community spirit in action. From youth initiatives and sports clubs to projects for older residents, community gardens, and support for families, the entries reflected the diverse ways communities are coming together to help Norfolk thrive.

At the Foundation, we are proud to support over 2,000 grassroots community groups, positively impacting 1 in 4 people locally by directing funding and support to where it is most needed.

We’d like to thank everyone for taking the time to send in photographs, which we will be sharing throughout the year via our website, social media and publications.

The winning image: Friends of Alburgh with Denton School

This year’s winning image comes from Friends of Alburgh with Denton School, capturing the Year 1 and 2 pupils during their 2024 Colour Run – an event held to raise vital funds to support and enhance the educational experience at the school.

Friends of Alburgh with Denton School received £500 to support their work.

Second place winner: Norfolk Hoopstars

Norfolk Hoopstars wins second place in the competition, receiving £300.

Their entry captured the energy and inclusivity of one of the group’s Wheelz sessions – a dynamic and welcoming activity that encourages people of all abilities and backgrounds to experience the joy of basketball.

Third place winner: North Norfolk Community Transport

North Norfolk Community Transport wins a deserving third place, receiving £200.

The charity, which has been providing accessible, affordable door-to-door transport across rural north Norfolk for 25 years, marked its milestone anniversary with a heartwarming entry showing a specially designed card being presented to one of their passengers on his birthday.

“Norfolk Day is a wonderful opportunity to showcase what makes our county so special – outstanding local individuals and groups creating real, positive change in their communities. We congratulate the competition winners, whose images capture the heart, energy, and spirit of Norfolk’s inspiring communities.”
