Grants of £500 are available to run focus groups for the people you work with to join an important conversation about Adult Social Services’ current and future provision.

Norfolk County Council’s Adult Social Services is developing a new strategy to guide their work over the next 5 years.

Over the summer, Adult Social Services are running an engagement programme called ‘Conversations Matter’ to ensure that people’s voices are heard and that they can help shape this strategy and tell the Council what matters to them.

The aim of this Fund is for organisations to bring together local people to host conversations and gather insight into what is important to them. The information gathered from the focus groups will help to shape the priorities and future of the Adult Social Services strategy.

Ideally, you will have existing activities or group sessions underway in August which will provide an opportunity for you to have this focus group conversation.

About the Fund

  • Focus groups should ideally consist of 5-10 participants. At the point of applying, we want to see that you already have established connections with the people who will form your focus group.
  • Training on how to get the most out of your focus group will be provided via Zoom on Monday 7th August. It is strongly advised that a representative for your organisation attends this training. The session will also be recorded.
  • We will also provide discussion points to help structure the focus group, for example ‘What does living a good life look like for you? How could Adult Social Services help you to achieve this?’.
  • Funding can be used for any costs incurred in running the focus group, including core costs, room hire, volunteer and staff costs, refreshments, travel expenses, resources and incentives for participants.
  • We ask that all focus groups are audio recorded for data collection purposes, however we would also like to encourage creative methods for collecting data alongside this.
  • Focus groups will need to take place and have the information you have gathered sent to NCF by 5pm on Thursday 31st August 2023.

All applicants must meet NCF’s general eligibility criteria.
