Holkham brings expertise to local charities
We recently brought 12 local charities together at Holkham to learn from one of the world’s most sustainable estates. The day focused on biodiversity in practice, with hands-on sessions that helped build confidence and skills that groups can take back into their own work.
From understanding habitats to small, practical ways they can measure their impact, it was inspiring to see community organisations learning alongside each other with experts at Holkham and sharing ideas.
Thank you to everyone at Holkham for their generous welcome and expertise. Partnerships like this help connect knowledge with local action, strengthening the work happening across our communities every day.
Greening our Communities
All of the charity and voluntary organisations visiting Holkham to learn about monitoring biodiversity had received funding through our Greening our Communities fund. This forms part of our wider Greening our Communities mission.
Greening our Communities is about helping people connect with nature. It supports local initiatives that make Norfolk’s places greener for future generations.
From helping community buildings such as village halls become more energy efficient through solar panels and insulation, to enabling people to connect with nature on their doorstep and improve biodiversity in both urban and rural spaces, communities are leading change in the places they know best.
Our mission for people powered greener spaces is making a difference now, and for the future.
