Do you have experience of social media and maximising its impact? Are you passionate about local communities and the work of charities and community groups? Would you like to be part of a team that is making a tangible difference to lives across Norfolk?

Norfolk Community Foundation is looking to appoint an Online Communities Officer to help promote the work of the charity and the projects, groups and individuals it supports across the county.

The appointment follows a year when the Foundation has led the charity response to the Covid-19 pandemic, awarding £4 million in grants to charities and community groups providing essential care and support, and recognises the impact of sharing these stories and the need to drive and grow online communications.

About the role

The Online Communities Officer will be vital in shaping and  leading the approach and delivery of our social media and online presence, seeking to make improvements on our reach, levels of engagement and online conversation.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Effectively managing our core social media accounts
  • Seeking out new opportunities for presence in emerging and developing online communities as well as maximising our reach across all areas of social media
  • Exploring innovative and creative ways of telling our story and the work we enable alongside local partners
  • Support engagement with public appeals and community fundraising
About you

We are looking for someone who is passionate about what we do and can bring insight and experience of leveraging social media to maximise its impact.

You will be able to communicate complex concepts in a simple to understand form and create imagery, content and videos for social media use whilst also being able to support and develop the wider team on tips and techniques on social media.

Good communication, IT and writing skills are a key part of this role, as is the ability to follow best practice guidelines. It is a busy role that will have many competing deadlines so the ability to schedule and manage priorities is also key.
