Expressions of Interest are invited for funds awarded from the national Tampon Tax Fund through Department for Digital, Culture, Media & Sport.

Grants of up to £10,000 are available for projects that aim to make a difference to the lives of disadvantaged women and girls in Norfolk.

Shortlisted Expressions of Interest will be invited to make a full submission, and funding decisions will be made in December.

Please note large grant opportunities will be limited, and proposals should clearly show the difference a grant will make to the delivery of services/ activities and reach.  Applications purely for salaries/ business as usual operational costs will not be considered.

Types of project we can support

Projects must clearly show how they aim to make a tangible improvement to the lives of disadvantaged women and girls in Norfolk by making a difference to health, wellbeing, confidence and social/ economic activity.

If your organisation received a Tampon Tax grant from the Norfolk programme last year you may apply, but please note that in the event of oversubscription organisations that have not previously been supported may be prioritised.  If you wish to apply for continuation funding, please note the application should clearly reflect the learning and development from initial funded delivery.

Organisations already in receipt of Tampon Tax funding from the national programme cannot be awarded funds from the Norfolk fund for the same activity.

Projects must clearly show how they aim to improve the lives of disadvantaged women and girls in Norfolk. This may include the following:

  • BAME specific services for women and girls
  • Drug and alcohol abuse
  • Training and employment
  • Female offenders
  • Gender equality
  • Health and well-being including self-esteem, self-image, reproductive health
  • LGBT specific services
  • Multiple complex needs
  • Older women
  • Women with disabilities
  • Women with learning disabilities
  • Women with mental health issues

Applicants must be able to show the need for their project, and how they will engage target beneficiaries.  Projects involving partnership working will be particularly welcomed.

Timescales

Decisions will be made in December 2019.

Please note grants must be spent within 12 months of the award, and all monitoring must be completed by March 2021 to form part of a national evaluation.  Awardee organisations may be contacted to participate in additional evaluation as part of the national programme.
