A new Fund that has been established to support community projects to help women’s personal and economic empowerment in Norfolk was launched at Aviva’s magnificent Marble Hall on 1st March, as part of a week of activities preceding International Women’s day.
The fund will award grants of between £500 – £2,500 to support activities that will help women to develop skills that will help them to gain or improve employment opportunities and to overcome the barriers they face in taking a full and active part in their communities and in the labour market.
The founders of the Norfolk Women’s Fund, Nicky Stevenson, Ruth Pearson, Lucy Hogg, Sally Kelly, Christina Yorke-Edgell and Erika Watson introduced the history and vision behind the Fund and their ambition to grow it with the support of corporate and individual donors and supporters.
Investment Managers, Brewin Dolphin became the first ‘Corporate friend’ of the Fund and presented a cheque for £500. To find out more about becoming an individual or corporate friend click here.
