King's Lynn & Wisbech Voluntary Group (KiWis)

KiWis provides support  and for families and young people suffering diabetes and raises awareness of the issues surrounding this serious condition.  This grant 0f £2,900 will provide places at Camp Beaumont in West Runton, for an activity weekend for 20 members from families on low income.

East Anglia Survivors Enterprise (EASE)                

This grant of £2,000 will provide this Norfolk wide support group with a data projector and screen to enable them to facilitate talks to schools, colleges and youth groups to raise awareness of domestic violence issues.

Holt Youth Project

Provides social,  leisure, educational and community activities for young people in Holt and surrounding villages.  This grant of £2,000 will provide funding to take  members on a residential activity weekend to The Horstead Centre.

Sheringham Skate Club

Provides sport and leisure activities to young people in Sheringham, to promote health and wellbeing and reduce anti social behaviour throughout the town.  This grant of £2,000 will support development and improvement costs to provide shelter and storage facilities for service users and to ensure it is a safe and sustainable facility for young people to use.

Time Out Support Group                  

Provides weekly peer support, counselling and complimentary therapies for people in rural North Norfolk suffering mentall ill health.  This grant of £2,000 will support the group’s operating costs.

The Garden Science Trust

Provides gardening and science courses for people with learning difficulties, to develop their skills and potential for further learning and / or employment.  This grant of £1,987 will provide the funding to launch a volunteer recruitment and training programme.

Interface Learning Association

Sets up creative and learning  projects and activities which bring people together across different social and cultural backgrounds to help them to develop new skills and self esteem together.  This grant of £1,860 will establish a nationally accredited youth volunteering scheme to enable young people from all backgrounds to gain experience and skills working with a range of marginalised groups. 

People First of Norfolk

Supports adults with learning difficulties to empower, help, represent and achieve for themselves.  This grant of £1,606 will support the costs of operating the North Norfolk self advocacy group, based in Holt.

The Autistic Way - Smart Kids OK

Provides a safe, purpose built environment where autistic children and young people can learn to socialise, improve self help skills and involve themselves in creative play with the assistance of knowledgable, qualified staff.  A grant of £1,159 provides funding to produce more Family Information Packs for client families and publicity material to increase parents' awareness of the services provided.

Musical Keys

Provides music and movement related activities for children & young people with special needs or disabilities. This grant of £1,152 will help provide training for musicians and volunteers to identify the needs of children with sensory loss and accomodating those needs within group activities.  This grant is match funded with another NCF fund to complete the project costs.

Bawdeswell Village Hall Committee Community Activities Group

This grant of £831 will provide equipment and training to set up indoor and outdoor activities for local children and young people during school holidays and after school, including operating a café to support future sustainability.

The Matthew Project

Works with young people, adults and communities in Norfolk by providing practical support and counselling to help deal with dependency and addiction issues.  A grant of £782 provides funding to produce leaflets and posters to publicise the presence of a new service based in Cromer, to serve the whole of North Norfolk.

Costessey Pre School Playgroup

Awarded £519 to provide new equipment for children to use in the pre school's new permanent premises at the local infant school, for the increasing number of children attending.

Friends in Bereavement

Operated entirely by volunteers, this organisation provides home visits to referred bereaved clients in West Norfolk and Fenland areas, offering people professional help to come to terms with loss.  This grant of £500 will support the community group's core costs.

Norfolk and Norwich Families' House

Improves the quality of life for vulnerable children and young people and their families in Norfolk by meeting their specific needs.  A grant of £500 was awarded to support the Family Support service user costs for 2007/2008.

Supporting Women and Activities Network  (SWAN)

This mental health support group provides health improving activities and professional and peer support for women of all ages in North Norfolk.  This grant of £480 will support the cost of workshops and activities throughout 2008.

Bodham Croquet Club

Provides regular Croquet facilities and matches for people of all ages in Bodham and the surrounding villages.  This grant of £2,400 was awarded to support the costs of replacing the now dilapidated club house.

7th Armoured Division Desert Rats Thetford Forest Memorial Assoc

Maintains the memorial site and promotes the history of the Division by holding an open day reunion annually.  This grant of £2,000 provided equipment and facilities for the annual memorial event, to make it more accessible to those with increasingly restricted mobility that attend the event, and to promote the event throughout Norfolk.

Broadland Youth and Community Centre

Awarded £2,000 to support the costs of required emergency electrical rewiring.

Norwich Door to Door

Facilitates social inclusion for people with disabilities to enable independence and access - transport for when and where it is needed.  This grant of £2,000 will fund the insurance costs for one year on two of the vehicles it operates.

About with Friends

Works with young people and adults with learning difficulties to improve the quality of their lives and develop social relationships, in North Norfolk.  This grant of £1,950 will help to launch a new project which helps people with learning difficulties into work by allocating them appropriate work experience.

Mile Cross Phoenix Childrens Project

Provides a centre for education, recreation and other social activities for the children and young people of Mile Cross, enabling them to develop skills and become responsible and caring members of society.  This grant of £1, 827 will support the cost of its summer holiday activities provision for local children.

Blofield Heath Bowls Club

Awarded a grant of £1,200 to provide a lawn mower to maintain the  bowling green of this active Broadland Club. 

Citizens Advice Bureau Watton & Dereham

Awarded a grant of £1,000 to support the operating costs of this community advice organisation in Breckland.

Awarded a grant of £1,000 to support the operating costs of the West Norfolk outreach and support group, based in King's Lynn.

A grant of £500 was match funded with a grant from the Suffolk community foundation to support the development of a Rugby pitch from which to operate sessions for local children and young people from across the two counties, to improve health and wellbeing and increase local youth provision.

Awarded £400 to provide some of the sports and leisure equipment required to establish a youth club at the Church.

Cromer Christian Fellowship

Awarded £300 to provide a shed in which to store eqipment from the local Parent & Toddler group.

Garnier Village Hall

Awarded a grant of £300 to provide the local youth with a venue from which to operate free music workshops.

South Repps Support Scheme

Awarded £300 to support the costs of installing a toddler swing in the village Playground.

Sheringham Bereavement Support

A grant of £250 provided this volunteer counselling service with kitchen equipment to enable them to offer clients refreshment during sessions.

Crossroads Wednesday Club Support Group

The Wednesday Club Support Group offers social recreation, leisure and peer support to carers of individuals with Alzheimer's Disease.  This grant of £1,262 will fund the venue hire costs for one year, crockery and leisure equipment for the carers of the support group to use.

OPEN Youth Trust

This grant of £1,096 will fund two computers for use in the classroom of the OPEN Road project, which will teach practical and academic skills to College entry level standard, on car and motorbike mechanics for up to 72 young people each year.

Sprowston Day Centre

This grant of £1,000 will support funding the group's transport costs of an ambulance and driver, which will facilitate up to 33 disabled older people using the lunch club each week.

West Norfolk Befriending

WNB provides a service for socially and rurally isolated older people by matching clients with a trained volunteer Befriender who will visit them on a regular basis and take them out where possible.  This grant of £1,000 will fund elements of its core costs for 2007/2008.

Norfolk Eating Disorders Association

Awarded £1,000 in support of the core costs of the West Norfolk outreach and support group, to enable it to continue to operate and develop the scope of its support.

Citizens Advice Bureau Watton & Dereham

Awarded £1,000 in support of the annual office running costs for 2007.

Disability Issues & Social Support Group (D.I.S.S. Group)

A grant of £500 will provide the support group for disabled people and their carers from Diss and its surrounding rural villages, with a laptop computer and associated accessories.  This will enable the group to develop its website and to teach its members how to use a computer.

Litcham Youth Project

Awarded a grant of £180 towards the Youth Club’s venue hire costs, for 10 -19 year olds in Litcham and its surrounding rural villages. 

The Omnibus Project

Awarded £3,000 to refurbish and upgrade elements of the Community Playbus and enable sessions for the first few months of 2007.

YESU

Awarded a grant of £2,000 for the drop in centre in Sheringham to replace deteriorating furnishings and provide new kitchen equipment for use by the group counselling people with mental health issues.

Elizabeth Fitzroy Support

Elizabeth Fitzroy Support is a day centre for people with severe learning and physical disabilities.  This grant of £1,904  will provide books and furniture for a room set aside to use as a library for members of the day centre.

Norfolk ACRO

Norfolk Acro supports former offenders to find accomodation, acquire life skills, tuition, training and employment to improve the quality of their life and to prevent re-occurence of criminal activity.  Awarded £675 for 50 foundation stage Food Safety courses for the client group, as well as accredited certification.

KickStart Norfolk

KickStart offers a low cost motor scooter hire scheme for  people wanting to access employment, training and education opportunities but live in areas where the public transport provision is poor or non existent.  Awarded £631 to fund the printing and distribution of leaflets in areas of Norfolk where take up of the KickStart service is currently low.

Norfolk Deaf Association

Awarded £570 for specialist equipment for a Deaf Awareness training course. NDA will train unemployed deaf people to deliver the awareness course for free to charities in Norfolk.

OPEN Youth Trust

Barnies

Awarded £250 to initiate a group singing project facilitated by professional singers for older, socially isolated people at Benjamin Court residential day care centre in Cromer.

Awarded £200 towards the cost of installing a hearing loop in the hall, for the benefit of the hard of hearing.

Fakenham Wensum Scout Group

Awarded £540 for six months venue hire costs to set up Beaver, Cub and Scout packs in Little Snoring.

St Edmunds Society

Awarded £615 to provide a shed from which to operate a project that will develop carpentry and cycle repair skills for homeless young men in Norwich.

BUILD

Awarded £600 for IT equipment for the youth group. BUILD provides activities and support for people of all ages with learning difficulties, to help them reach their full potential.

Linking Together West Norfolk

Awarded £600 to funds elements of their annual core costs.  Linking Together provides a helpline, advice and practical support for people directly affected by somebody else’s substance abuse.

The Matthew Project

Awarded £1,360 to fund the annual insurance on the Double Decker Bus outreach project, which targets deprived urban areas of Norfolk to educate and inform young people on the dangers of drugs and alcohol abuse.

Awarded £325 for kit and equipment for a football club in a deprived urban area of Norwich, run entirely by volunteers.

Awarded £2,000 for a new server and anti-virus software, as the current system is inadequate to cope with it’s growing services.

Interface Learning Association

Awarded £1,858 to set up a project that will develop carpentry skills in young people aged 13-15 and not in school, to design and make a set of drum stands in collaboration with a group of wheelchair users. This will enable the wheelchair users to take part in a Youth Music Theatre project, and enable Interface to conduct drum workshops for disabled people in the future.

MPower

Pulhams Playgroup - Diss

Awarded £351.19 to fund the purchase of a computer workstation for a recently donated computer, and appropriate software and accessories to allow the children to acquire relevant computer skills on entering school.

Thalia Theatre Company - Norwich

Thalia is a theatre company for disabled adults and young people with physical and sensory impairments in particular, but not exclusively.  The company devise theatre to challenge negative perceptions of disabled people.  They were awarded £992.80 to facilitate a two day tuitional residency by 'Rambert Dance Company' from London, for all 24 Thalia Company members.
