“In these particularly harsh and unusual economic times it is pleasing to report that the last twelve months has been an incredibly successful time for the Norfolk Community Foundation.

In 2010 we attracted a number of significant new grant funds; launched a range of new initiatives to attract new donors and have distributed over £1,100,000 to over 600 voluntary and community groups. Importantly we have also built our endowment from £2,000,000 to £4,200,000 in the current year, and hope to be able to maintain this momentum in future years.

In achieving this level of grant giving and building our endowments funds we seek to ensure that we have the capability to provide grants that will support the smaller charities and community based groups across Norfolk
for many years to come. We have also grown the number of donors that choose to deliver some or all of their charitable work through the Foundation. For this we are hugely grateful and appreciative as without their support we would not be able together to deliver our work and make a real difference in the way we do today.

The Foundation is now six years old and in that time has proven to have a place in the county not just for its grant giving but within the wider charity sector. It is my responsibility to ensure that we continue to grow our grant making capabilities and that the Foundation continues to appeal to both its existing and potential new donors.

We look forward to the next twelve months and to new opportunities which exist for the Foundation to fulfil its growing role in Norfolk”.
