Sheringham Skate Club

In response to local consultation, Sheringham Skate Club has undertaken a major project to create a new facility for young people in the Sheringham area.

‘The Strip’ offers a variety of features for skateboards, rollerblades/inline skates as well as BMX, mountain and trials bikes for all abilities. It also provides a safe environment for local young people to gather and socialise, reducing anti-social behaviour and intergenerational tensions in the town.

The project was developed with input from local young people and over 150 voted on the final three designs. This major project received a grant of £5,000 from the Victory Housing Fund in 2012, and ‘The Strip’ opened in May 2013. Sheringham offers few leisure facilities for children and young people, particularly opportunities available free of charge and with unlimited year round access.

It is expected that around 7,000 children and young people will use the facility each year, primarily aged 14-25, and including summer visitors to the area.
