Norwich Door to Door

Norwich Door to Door offers accessible and affordable transport to children, adults and older people with mobility problems due to disability and/ or old age, who are unable to use mainstream transport or other volunteer car schemes due to their mobility needs.

Many users are marginalised and on benefits or low incomes, and would face very limited and isolated lives without this service. The service operates in the Norwich and district area during the week, but provides a wider service across the county wherever possible at weekends to offer social outings and trips. As the name suggests, the service collects users from their home, provides all the assistance they need to travel, and delivers them to their destination.

In 2012 Norwich Door to Door received a grant of £3,900 from the Norfolk Community Fund towards the running costs of its seven minibuses. For many, as well as a valuable social lifeline, this service enables them to maintain their independence and carry out basic weekly tasks such as trips to the shops or post office, or visit friends and family. Around 500 users benefit from this service annually.
