Local Amenities

Norfolk’s rural communities have faced a series of challenges in recent years, with many seeing their post office, shops, pubs and schools closing down, and limited public transport to reach facilities elsewhere. For these communities, local halls, play areas and sports facilities can become the centre of local life, providing a venue for clubs and groups, and opportunities to socialise.

Norfolk Community Foundation is able to help many communities protect and improve their local facilities and services, from building and repairing village halls, installing new play equipment and supporting community transport and voluntary car share schemes. Having access to such amenities can make a great difference to quality of life, especially for the most vulnerable residents.
