I am delighted to support Norfolk Community Foundation which is already doing such very good work within the County.

TFN Event - 3rd May 2012
After the unqualified success of last year’s event where over £26,000 was raised for Norfolk charities, Norfolk Community Foundation are organising another Dragons Den-style funding evening with the Funding Network where your charity could raise significant funds for a specific project. The evening is great fun and not only raises a lot of money but it also attracts lots of media interest so it’s a chance to spread the word about the good work that your charity does and how it benefits others.
The concept isn’t new. The Funding Network has raised £3 million over the last eight years by holding these events around the UK. Basically five charities present to an audience of around 100 people for six minutes each on why they require £5,000. Then after six minutes of questions and answers there is a short pledging session from the audience.
We are now accepting project applications for this event, so if your group is based in Norfolk and has any inspirational projects working to make a positive change in any aspect of society please do consider putting them forward. The simple application form and guidelines can be found below along with details of what last year’s applicants did with the money they received.
Applications must be returned by 2 March 2012 to the Norfolk Community Foundation, by post to St James Mill, Whitefriars, Norwich NR3 1SH, or email to grants@norfolkfoundation.com
The Norfolk Community Foundation Selection panel will create a shortlist of 10 applications. The 10 shortlisted applicants will then be invited to present to the Selection Panel on 22 March 2012. Each presenter will be given six minutes to explain why they require £5,000 after which the Panel will ask a few brief questions to complete the interview. The Panel will then notify the successful applicants.
The five finalists will then present on 3 May 2012 at Birketts, Kingfisher House, 1 Gilders Way, Norwich from 6.30pm- 9.30pm.
